Step 2 - Planning position & size of your pelmet
To decide the length of you pelmet add an allowance from the outside of your architrave normally 10cm each side for standard rooms and 20cm each side for bedrooms if you want it dark.
For bigger windows you may want to use more allowance.
Using the Easytrack system when the curtain is bunched up to one side takes up roughly 20% of the pelmet length or for 2 curtains 10% each side.
Using the motorised system when the curtain is bunched up to one side takes about 30% of the pelmet length or for 2 curtains 15% each side.

Possible fixing points: Ceiling Fix: Screwed into ceiling - Not possible if there is a cornice in the way. On Architrave - Sits on top of the architrave - Covering the top of your architrave finishes of your window nicely. Above Architrave - Sits a distance above the architrave - Mounting like this can make your room look bigger. End against wall - If window is very close to one wall the pelmet can be made so there is no return on the side where the window is next to the wall and the pelmet butts up to the side wall. This is specified - Returns: LHS, RHS or both sides. |

Track measurement types: Standard measurement: This is the measurement of the track and in the case of a wooden pelmet does not include the thickness of the profile on the ends of the track. Outside measurement: This is the total length of the track including any profile attached to each end. |
